Duluth Heritage Sports Center
The Duluth Heritage Sports Center was awarded a $50,000 grant in June 2007 by the Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation for assistance in construction of the new Duluth Heritage Sports Center. The Center will operate at the former Clyde Iron site in the Lincoln Park neighborhood in Duluth.
The Center will provide a comprehensive multi-use youth sports facility accommodating a wide range of youth sports activities on a year-round basis. The Boys and Girls Club of Duluth will be expanding their operations to the Center offering a computer lab on site, classroom space and access to the Pavilion space for youth recreation activities.
The Duluth Heritage Sports Center seeks to benefit the community as a regional destination center for youth and high school hockey and other sports, stimulate private economic development adjacent to the site and renovate and restore historic industrial building important to the City.
