Safe Haven Shelter for Battered Women
Safe Haven Shelter for Battered Women in Duluth Minnesota was recently awarded a grant from the Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation of $50,000 to support the Lake Superior Regional Family Justice Center.
The Family Justice Center will be a one-stop-shop allowing victims of domestic violence to come to one place for all the services they need. Goals of the project include providing a location where victim providers, including government entities, can co-locate for the benefit of victims by wrapping all needed services around a victim and her children. Services provided at the Justice Center will include Safe Haven Shelter legal advocates and access to police, prosecutors, probation and other nonprofit agencies that work to meet the needs of victims.
Safe Haven Shelter for Battered Women was established in Duluth in 1978 with a mission to provide safety for women and their children and work to end violence against women.
