Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation - 2007 Annual Report

The mission of the Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation is to enhance educational opportunities in Cook County and to significantly improve the quality of life in the North Shore communities of Cook, Lake and southern St. Louis County through competitive grant making in the areas of Arts and Culture, Community and Economic Development, Education, Environment, and Social Welfare programs to qualified nonprofit organizations

From the Executive Director:

2007 was a year of new beginnings for the Lloyd K Johnson Foundation. Structure was put in place, mission defined and priorities established. With a new system developed for our grant making efforts, the Board of Directors approved 53 grants to support nonprofit organizations along the North Shore and initiated a scholarship program for graduating seniors at Cook County High School in Grand Marais.

In this short time we already know some of the positive results grant funds provided have made in changed lives and communities strengthened. Our goal is to be good stewards of the funds that Mr. Johnson so generously provided to benefit the communities of the North Shore and we know that the future is bright with possibilities. We have only just begun.
