The new Lloyd K Johnson Post-Secondary School Scholarship Program was successfully launched in 2008 with four students from Cook County High School awarded scholarships.
The 2008 recipients were: Jackie Carbert, Mary Edson, Casey Kimball and Lea Leonard.
The scholarship award pays for all tuition, fees and books for one academic year at Lake Superior College in Duluth.
The scholarship recipients were chosen through a process that included careful review of student submitted application materials to a selection committee comprised of teachers and administrators at Cook County High School. The selection committee then passed along their recommendations of students to receive scholarship awards to the Board of the Lloyd K Johnson Foundation for review and approval.
All four students will be eligible for a renewal scholarship for a second academic year at Lake Superior College pending satisfactory academic performance during the first award year.
Congratulations to these four students on being the first to receive the
Lloyd K Johnson Post-Secondary School Scholarship!
