Step One: The Inquiry Process
To begin the inquiry process, applicants must contact the Foundation to determine if the proposed project is consistent with the Foundation’s goals and interests. Please call or email us about your proposed project.

Applicants whose proposed projects fit the Foundation’s priorities and interests will be advised to submit the Letter of Intent form to determine eligibility and the extent to which the Foundation’s interests and funds permit consideration of a full proposal. After the Letter of Intent form is reviewed, applicants will be informed by Foundation staff whether a proposal will be invited.
The Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation accepts the Letter of Intent form on a year-round basis. Full proposals $2,000 and over will be reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors at regularly scheduled Board meetings held in March, June, September and December. An applicant submitting a full proposal may expect a decision within three months after submittal. Short-form proposals for requests $2,000 and under will be reviewed year-round with decisions made within 10 days.
